THE PATHOLOGIST

The era of precision medicine requires a pathologist who knows how to combine the histo and cytopathological tradition with the knowledge of molecular pathology, open to clinical research. The Anatomic Pathology Residency Program of the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca offers professional activities, a dynamic training network and an visiting scholar program with the aim of guaranteeing growth and progressive autonomy for the new pathologists of tomorrow.

OUR PROGRAM

The Residency program is based on 4-year professional training courses that address the main fields of histo and cytopathology subspecialties as well as principles of molecular pathology and oncological interventional pathology.

TEACHING ACTIVITES

Teaching activities include lectures on topics of general interest in anatomic pathology with in-depth studies on topics of molecular and interventional pathology.

Residents are actively involved in the teaching activity thanks to the constant organization of literature coffee breaks and the continuous updating of the literature update section of the site.

PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES OF THE RESIDENT

Residents will follow a schedule that provides the most appropriate and proportionate rotation according to their experience, independence and progressive responsibility.

The practical activities consist of the grossing and macroscopic description of surgical specimens, the performance of clinical autopsies, the microscopic assessment of cyto/histological preparations.
